She has performed locally in a number of theatrical productions, including A Month in the Country, Cinderella, A Chorus Line and Bye Bye Birdie at the Town Hall Arts Center, a professional theater located in the Denver metropolitan area. Instead of going to high school graduation parties, she performed the play Evitac with other cast members at the former Country Dinner Playhouse.

Melissa began to demonstrate a desire for creativity and art from a very young age.  Initially, the girl was fascinated by dancing, because at the age of three her parents delivered the baby to a choreographic studio.  A year later, little Melissa has mastered the basics of ballet domain, standing out from the rest of the children, and has also successfully won tap dance.

 Aunt Melissa worked at the church and organized the celebrations and performances.  She was the one who called little Melissa to an amateur play staged in church as part of a holiday.  Thus, the first stage entry with the future popular actress took place at the age of four.  And from that moment, the girl started the dream of becoming an artist.

While studying until 2007 in Littleton, Melissa also studied at the Theater Arts Studio for children and teenagers.  This allowed her to perform at Disneyland in the summer.  Also, as a teenager, Melissa Benoist seriously studied music, vocals and honed her stage skills at one of Colorado's drama schools.

 When Melissa graduated from high school, she moved to New York.  In this metropolis, the girl entered Marymount Manhattan, where she studied until 2011, choosing the theater art department.  During training, Melissa was able to participate in the filming of the movie "Tennessee", released in 2008. Additionally, in 2010-2011, the aspiring actress worked on several popular television series, including Blue Blood, Law and Order: Special Corps, Homeland.  As a rule, Melissa landed small roles, starred in an episode or two, but during that time she got a good deal of experience working in front of the cameras.

Melissa Benoist began to fully develop her career when she graduated from higher education in New York.  Now in her filmography, there are over fifteen projects in which she starred.

 Having decided not to leave television after small roles in the series, in 2012, Melissa was cast in the television project "Chorus".  At that time, three seasons of this series had already been released.  Thanks to her acting data, appearance and good vocals, Melissa still managed to join the cast of this television project, where she worked until 2014. In total, the young actress starred in 35 episodes.  It was the work of this series that caught Melissa's attention and made her popular.

A new career success was signing a contract for the television series Supergirl, in which Melissa Benoist was approved for the lead role.  The actress works on this project until today, becoming famous.  The first episodes of Supergirl were released in 2015. In the same year, the actress appeared in several movies: "Second Chance", "Billy Guy".  And in 2016, the movie "Patriot's Day" was released.
